Bears Picnic is held every Sunday in season at the legendary Bearsville complex. Built into a physical expression of the 1960's rock & roll dream by Albert Grossman, manager to Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan among others, the property is 15 acres of pure Catskill magic. Buildings, lawns and plenty of parking are set inside a ring of mountains and woods. A pleasantly babbling brook completes the picturesque setting.
The complex is located a mile and a half from Woodstock Village Green. Set right on Tinker St./ Rt 212, easily accessible from both Kingston to the East and Phoenicia to the West.
Each of our vendor community have been hand-picked to showcase the spirit of Woodstock to the world. While many are local, all are like minded, focusing on hand made or hand picked goods showcasing the best of American entrepreneurial businesses and craftsmanship.
Whats sets our market apart is it's focus on rock and roll sensibility, its as true as blue jeans. We keep an eye out for grit, raw talent, perfectionist art with an edge. Our vendors take their products seriously but themselves a little less.
Each Sunday is a new day at the Picnic with a different mix of vendors, so be sure to check our Sundays link for that days mix of favorites and newbies.
